What I like
- Data, calls and a number in one app: rare among travel eSIMs.
- Cheap entry price: $3.90 for 1GB in most countries.
- Fast networks: top tests passed 200 Mbps in Europe and the US.
- Human live chat in the app.
- Cashback in the eSIMoney wallet.
What I don’t like
- Pricey regional and global plans.
- Newer brand with a short track record.
- Calls need data: they run over the internet, not the mobile network.
- No reusable eSIM: each plan is a new install.
What is eSIMo?
eSIMo is a travel eSIM app for iPhone and Android. It sells local, regional and global data plans. Unlike most rivals, it also lets you make calls and rent a second phone number in the same app.
According to TravelEsimExpert in 2026, eSIMo is part of the ALMA Technologies group and launched about three years ago. That makes it much younger than Airalo or Holafly.
How much does eSIMo cost in 2026?
Local plans come in five sizes, from 1GB to 20GB. Most countries start at $3.90 for 1GB. Here are example prices for single-country plans.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Turkey | $6.90 | $9.90 | $13.90 | $19.90 |

Single-country plans are fairly priced, and cheap in places like Turkey. Regional and global plans are a different story. According to TravelEsimExpert in 2026, eSIMo’s 10GB global plan at $114.90 is among the most expensive on the market. For multi-country trips, compare with Saily or Yesim first.

How do eSIMo calls and phone numbers work?
This is eSIMo’s main selling point. Inside the app you can:
- Call any phone number from about $0.01 per minute, paid from your eSIMoney wallet.
- Rent a second number from $1.90 per month, in around 30 countries. Rentals run 1, 3, 6 or 12 months.
- Receive SMS on numbers that support it. According to TravelEsimExpert, SMS numbers are only offered in the UK and Canada.
Calls run over your data connection, like WhatsApp. So you need data to call. You also can’t call emergency numbers such as 112 or 911 through the app. Keep your home SIM active for emergencies and bank codes.

How fast is eSIMo’s data?
eSIMo uses local partner networks, often with more than one carrier per country. Speeds were strong in independent tests:
- According to TravelEsimExpert in 2026, eSIMo reached 404 Mbps in France on the Orange network.
- The same tests recorded 286 Mbps in Spain, 206 Mbps in the USA and 177 Mbps in South Korea.
- Weaker results came from Indonesia (52.6 Mbps) and Colombia (34.2 Mbps), and rural areas were slower.
Even the weaker results are fine for maps, messaging and video calls.
Is eSIMo reliable?
The networks seem solid, but the brand is young, so be careful. On Trustpilot, eSIMo has only about 23 reviews. Trustpilot currently hides its score and says it removed fake reviews for this company. Real complaints mention failed activations and slow refunds.
On the plus side, support is in-app live chat with real people. TravelEsimExpert reported replies in about 5 minutes.
My advice: install the eSIM on Wi-Fi a day before you fly. If it doesn’t work, contact support before your trip starts.

eSIMo vs Saily, Airalo and Yesim: which should you pick?
| Provider | Best for | Calls / number | Standout extra |
|---|---|---|---|
| eSIMo | Short trips + calling | Calls + rented number | Data, calls and number in one app |
| Saily | Most trips, privacy | Data only | Ad and tracker blocking |
| Airalo | Widest coverage | On select plans | Airmoney rewards |
| Yesim | Uncertain usage | SMS-only number | Pay-as-you-go data |
Full head-to-heads: Saily vs eSIMo, Airalo vs eSIMo and Yesim vs eSIMo. My full ranking is in the best eSIM for 2026 guide.
Who should use eSIMo (and who shouldn’t)?
eSIMo is a good fit if you:
- Travel to one country for a short trip.
- Need to call hotels, taxis or tour operators cheaply.
- Want a local-looking second number while abroad.
Look elsewhere if you:
- Visit many countries — regional and global plans are pricey. Try Saily.
- Can’t predict your usage — try Yesim Pay & Fly.
- Want the longest track record — try Airalo.
My verdict on eSIMo
eSIMo does something most travel eSIMs don’t: it bundles data, cheap calls and a second number in one app. Single-country plans are fairly priced, and speeds in tests were strong. The weak spots are expensive multi-country plans and a short track record. For a one-country trip where you need to call ahead, it is worth a look, especially with code SILVER15.

Frequently asked questions
Is eSIMo legit?
eSIMo is a real travel eSIM app on iPhone and Android, reported to be part of the ALMA Technologies group and launched about three years ago. It is still a young brand: Trustpilot currently hides its score after removing fake reviews, so install your eSIM a day early and test it before you fly.

Can I make calls with eSIMo?
Yes. The eSIMo app lets you call any phone number from about $0.01 per minute, paid from your eSIMoney wallet. Calls run over your data connection, so you need data, and you cannot call emergency numbers like 112 or 911 through the app.
Does eSIMo give you a phone number?
